From oldies to newbies, join us every month as we highlight our favourite tracks that we couldn’t stop listening too.

July has been a big month for going back and listening to the music that I’d cry to in year 9.

White Trashing – Nicole Dollanganger

White Trashing is the third track on ‘Natural Born Losers’,  an album released by the American artist, Nicole Dollanganger, in 2015. Dollanganger pairs eerie lyrics and soft vocals to explore the fear of wasting your life in a small town and how that becomes irrelevant when you’re with those you care about.

skate witches – Teen Suicide

skate witches is the fifth and my personal favourite song on Teen Suicide’s 2015 release ‘dc snuff film / waste yrself’. I saw Teen Suicide at the Exchange in Bristol last March, as a part of the band’s first tour in the United Kingdom, and it was a surreal experience to be lucky enough to see a song I have loved since I was about 13 being played live.

Ghostly Girlfriend – dandelion hands

Ghostly Girlfriend is the seventh track on dandelion hands’ 2014 release ‘bleak week’. Loving this song is one of the few choices I can back my teenage self on.

Life Time Warranty – Cyberbully Mom Club

Released in 2015, Life Time Warranty was the fourth track on Philadelphia-based band, Cyberbully Mom Club’s album ‘Amy Locust Whatever’. The song is effortlessly catchy and is another YouTube find from year 9 Ash that I’ve never managed to let go of.
